Update: WAFB reports football players allegedly involved in altercation
Online social network may give insight into reported conflict

Sports information director Michael Bonnette said late Saturday he has no information regarding a WAFB report that LSU football players were tied to a fight involving 20 people at the Varsity Theatre late Friday night.
WAFB cites a police report in which Ryan Perrilloux and Derrick Odom were named. The WAFB report does not specify in what capacity the players were named.
Capt. J.T. Smith of the Baton Rouge Police Department said late Saturday he could not confirm or deny any of the details of the police report.
"This is an ongoing investigation," Smith said. "No LSU players have been arrested."
This is not the first allegation of trouble involving Odom, a back-up linebacker. He has been arrested twice since August, but Miles defended the decision to keep Odom on the team.
Odom's public profile on Facebook, an online social network, featured a status message early Saturday morning that may have alluded to the situation.
"Derrick is sayin the fight dont end til u die BITCH," Odom apparently wrote at 8:02am.
Odom updated his page just minutes later with another message.
"Derrick is trippin on how these fools try to run up on u behind ya back when they know they cant fuck wit u 1 on 1 but he got something that will shut all that shit down," he wrote at 8:05 a.m. Saturday.
Bonnette said he has not seen the police report and does not have any updates on the situation.
Bonnette also said he does not know what LSU coach Les Miles knows about the situation.
"Miles has no comment at the time," Bonnette said.
Miles will not address the media until his normally-scheduled lunchtime press conference on Monday.

I hope that these young men are not involved with any of this. I would hope they learned and are using their last lucky get out of Coach Miles jail in good faith. (Continued…)

Why not run Odom's picture instead of Perrilloux's- we have no idea if either of them did anything wrong during the "fight," and only Odom was dumb enough to post threats on his facebook page. (Continued…)
