Football player arrested on battery charge -- 12:45 p.m.

An LSU football player was arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Monday at 2:54 a.m.

Offensive lineman Kyle Anderson, business administration sophomore of The Woodlands, Texas, was booked on second degree battery.

Anderson redshirted his freshman season in 2005 and was named to the 2006 Southeastern Conference Freshman Academic Honor Roll.

Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette confirmed the arrest but had no further details.
