In the '90s when we were children, we loved getting home from school during the week or waking up Saturday morning to watch television. The shows we watched evolved from "Sesame Street" to "Power Rangers" and eventually to "South Park" and "Flavor of Love." Somewhere in this evolution we watched cartoons made by Disney. Though it could be argued that these were the lamest shows we watched as children, it cannot be denied they had the best theme music. I will now give you my list of the top five theme songs from those Disney cartoons. Honorable Mention: "Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears." While this was actually one of the cartoons I remember liking more than the others, its theme song isn't quite top five material. Memorable lyric: "Magic and mystery are part of their history along with the secret of gummiberry juice." Fifth place: "Darkwing Duck." Many people remember "Darkwing Duck" because they hated it. It was my personal favorite, but I was an odd child. The theme song was not as good as some of the others but was pretty catchy. Memorable lyric: "When there's trouble you call DW." Fourth place: "Goof Troop." This show was a little stupid, but that didn't stop me from watching it. I almost forgot it existed until I ran across the movie version in Wal-Mart. The show wasn't memorable, but its opening song was. Memorable line: "Now we're calling everyone. Come along and join the fun. Report to the Goof Troop la doo doo doo bop bop a doo bop. Yeah!" Third place. "DuckTales." The big question about "DuckTales" was always how Uncle Scrooge could dive into his pool of gold coins without hurting himself. I don't know. I do know that every time someone sings the theme song others join in. Memorable lyric: "Duck Tales oo-oo." Second place. "TaleSpin." This was just a show about a bear and his friend, an orangutan, owning an air transportation business. They also fight pirates. Memorable lyric: "Spin it, let's begin it, bear and grin it, when you're in it. You can win it in a minute when you spin it, spin it, spin it." First Place. "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers." You're singing it right now in your head aren't you? And for the record, the mouse girl was hot, Dale was a stoner and Monty probably had diabetes. Memorable lyric: "Ch-Ch-Ch-Chip 'n Dale, Rescue Rangers."
