BATON ROUGE (AP) — Baton Rouge produced nearly a third of the metro construction job gains in the United States over the past year.
That’s according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America. The group found that from September 2008 through September 2009, only eight of the 337 largest metro areas gained construction jobs.
Those cities combined to produce 2,100 new construction jobs, including Baton Rouge with 600.
Baton Rouge wound up with 41,200 construction jobs.
